- Take your time with yourself. Yep, simply taking the time to tend to yourself is a wonderful and gentle way to start “Om”-ing in on your health. Doing so will allow you to relax into your day, listen to your body and treat yourself with the same care you would a precious friend or family member.
- Think positive. When you wake in the morning smile, breathe deep and commit to being positive all day long. Positivity has the power to change our brain waves, change our respiration and to even change the chemicals and molecules in our body into better, happier and healthier structures!
- Touch others. This can be a hug, a hand hold, a pat on the back or even a lovely romantic kiss. Touching others in ways that soothe, pleasantly greet, affirm love or confirm romantic commitment allow the body to release needed endorphins and feel-good hormones that comfort the soul and nurture our bodies to better health.
- Value rest. Take the time to rest and to relax. Rest and relaxation allow the brain to clear and the body to renew. Adequate rest is essential for hormonal regulation, optimal metabolic functioning, and a better mood.
- Think quality. What lies between your two ears functions best on whole foods, plenty of water and vitamin and mineral supplements. Supplements such as SAM-e, Rhodiola, 5-HTP and Tryptophan have been used to buffer stress, improve mood, improve sleep and to “Om”-out the body, mind, and soul.
- Share. Share your feelings, resources, experiences, talents, time and love with your friends and family. Resist the urge to hold back, allow yourself to be vulnerable, tender, giving, true and authentic. There is an amazing amount of wonderful energy and peace that comes from being your authentic self and from allowing yourself to “be” exactly who you are.
- Do not be afraid to ask for help or to take the time to notice if you are feeling out of sorts or having struggles. Your wellness matters most and letting others help you achieve your best health or working with professionals to sort things out is an awesome way to assist yourself. You can do all things and some things are not meant to be done alone. Reach out to others and your “Om” will feel more at home!
